Biography

Gail joined the faculty more than twenty years ago and has extensive experience in both teaching, undergraduate curriculum design, and administration. Gail has taught across the BSW Curriculum, applying feminist pedagogy and a northern social work lens to courses on groupwork, research, ethics, diversity, oppression, self-directed portfolios, and social work theory.  She has been privileged to work within and for communities across Alberta in implementing the BSW program: Grande Prairie, Lac La Biche, West Yellowhead, Red Deer, Lloydminster, Peace River, and Slave Lake. She has served as long time director for the former Community Based Learning Circles Program and has a passion for northern and rural social work practice.  Gail is now the provincial Associate Dean, Undergraduate for the faculty.
