Clinical Social Work Practice

You'll learn to provide critical, culturally appropriate, and therapeutic assessments and interventions with individuals, families, and groups in a range of settings. Learn to conceptualize client problems and solutions within a framework that values each client's life context.

Our Clinical MSW specializations are offered differently at each of our Alberta campuses. There are several options from full-time, in-person classes at our Calgary campus; to full-time, blended/online classes with three scheduled residencies at our Edmonton or Calgary campus.

You'll be required to complete a minimum 500-hour practicum. You must ensure you're available to complete the practicum.

Every year we offer different topics in Clinical Social work Practice. Each location may have different offerings each year.

International & Community Development

You'll learn skills and knowledge needed to critically examine and engage with development policies and practices. You'll also learn ethical approaches to working with diverse populations in global and local contexts.

This specialization is offered primarily online with three required residencies at our Calgary campus. The flexible format allows you to stay home and balance graduate studies with work, life and family demands.

You'll be required to complete a minimum 500-hour practicum, which can be done in Canada or in an international placement during the final year of your program. You must ensure you're available to complete the practicum.
