Researcher wins Achievement Under 40 award
The 2014 Immigrants of Distinction Awards gala, which was held on March 7, 2014 at the Westin Calgary Hotel, celebrated the outstanding achievements and contributions of immigrants to Calgary.
Turin Tanvir Chowdhury, an assistant professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences, Institute for Public Health, and Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta, received the Achievement Under 40 Award.
The award is presented to an immigrant under 40 years of age who has had remarkable success and made significant achievements in his or her chosen career path in a relatively short period of time. Overcoming significant obstacles, he or she has demonstrated perseverance and dedication. More
