Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization in Research and Practice

On Wednesday, March 9, 2022, the University of Calgary Faculty of Social Work will host our annual research symposium. This year's theme is: Issues of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Decolonization in Research and Practice. The virtual symposium will showcase an amazing variety of research, including faculty members, students and community partners. The goal of the symposium is to inspire, connect and encourage new research initiatives.
Keynote - Dr. Dexter R. Voisin
The Faculty of Social Work is honoured to have Dr. Dexter R. Voisin as a keynote speaker to launch our Symposium’s theme of building equitable research! Dr. Voisin is a renowned scholar and advocate who examines the impact of structural violence and provides practical advice on advancing social justice. His leadership in equity, diversity, inclusion and decolonization (EDID) is recognized internationally, and aligns with the EDID directions guided by The Faculty of Social Work, The Anti-Black Racism Task Force, The Equity Action Committee and The Research and Partnership Committee.
