Field Education

One of the most important parts of your education to become a professional social worker is your field education, or practicum experience. Under the supervision of experienced, registered social workers you'll have the opportunity to integrate your class room experience in the real world and get a feel for different types of social work practice. Every student will complete at least one practicum in their degree. Remember, practicums are full-time (3-5 days per week) placements, usually during business hours, on weekdays.
