The campus map will help you navigate UCalgary during your visit. The Faculty of Social Work is located in the heart of campus on the 3rd floor of MacKimmie Tower, marked MT on the map.

Getting around Calgary

On the Calgary Transit website, you will find up to date information on public transportation service in Calgary, including bus and train routes, fare prices, detours and stop closures. There is a CTrain stop conveniently located right on campus, and many bus routes stop here as well.

Calgary Transit Access Division provides specialized transit service for people with disabilities who can’t use regular transit services.

There are also several taxi services available in the city:
•    Associated Cabs: 403-299-1111
•    Checker Yellow Cabs: 403-299-9999
•    Calgary United Cabs: 403-777-1111

Computers and internet access

You will be expected to complete some assignments while in Calgary, so make sure you bring your laptop and charger with you. You can plug in and use your laptop in the Social Work Student Lounge, located on the 3rd Floor in MacKimmie Tower.

While on-site in Calgary, if needed, you will be able to access computers in the Taylor Family Digital Library’s Learning Commons area (first floor). These computers are shared by the entire university community.

In order to make use of the wireless network and virtual desktops on campus, you will need your UCalgary eID and password.

Unicard Office

Unicard: Your Campus Card

Your Unicard is your official campus identification. If you don’t already have it, you can pick it up from the Unicard office when you arrive on campus. While on campus, it will be required to access the Faculty of Social Work Student Lounge, and you may need to use it to borrow materials from the library or for printing and copying documents (for a fee). You can add Uni Dollars to your card online.
